Catching a Fish with a Coin in its Mouth

According to the Bible:

A fter Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?”

“Yes, he does,” he replied.

When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. “What do you think, Simon?” he asked. “From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes-from their own children or from others?”

“From others,” Peter answered.

“Then the children are exempt,” Jesus said to him. “But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.”

What if -

This con is similar to the trick magicians pull when they pull a coin out of your ear Jesus sent the apostles out to find a small shallow pool to place the fish with the coin in its mouth. He wanted to make sure that grabbing the fish would be easy, making it even easier to impress the crowd who would inevitably gather wherever they went. When the time came for Jesus to work his magic, he made several stabs at the fish and it was like the fish was mocking him by avoiding him. Jesus eventually caught the fish and held it at eye level so they could see the coin. It was as shiny as could be and sticking out for anyone to grab.

The locals then started looking for fish with coins in their mouths all the time. Jesus knew full well the idiots would fall for it and this allowed himself and the apostles to go and fish in the waters that had more fish and make major bucks off of it. They also robbed the townspeople blind and never suspected Jesus and the apostles of having anything to do with it.
